Habit?

I don't know whether has it become a habit or not, but Ayden has been waking up at night since I can't even remember when. Yes, I know, I'm complaining about the same problem again. There were all sorts of reasons : giving a kiss, hugging me, tell me he's scared, just loving my bed, etc.. I tried all kinds of methods, whacking him till the cane splits(yap, so heartless rite?), talking to him nicely, reasoning out with him, even putting up photos of me.. you name it, I tried it. But to no avail.... now I just give up, why why why must he get up? Mum told me, the only reason might be insecurity. Haiz, I'm just really praying hard that this phase will go off. I'm tired, tired of disrupted sleep, tired of scolding him, tired of spanking him, tired of reasoning, tired of EVERYTHING I tried! Please tell me what to do?
